A temporary home for women and their children who, as a result of family violence, need a safe place to stay. Care is offered for 15 days with extension to 30 days if necessary. Interim housing available. Kitimat residents can arrange transportation by phoning the Transition House. Also educates on the cycle of abuse and different types of abuse, provides counselling and legal referrals to agencies around the community. Also provides clothing though donations, food and shelter. Staffs are not counsellors but are there to listen and refer you. |
