Literacy isn't someone else's problem. It affects every one of us.
More than half new jobs will need education beyond high school.
Low literacy levels affect people's quality of life, economic growth,
employment and health.
Changing technology demands that we compete on a global level. Higher reading
and writing skills are required more than ever before.
31% of British Columbians have a low literacy level. "That's one out of three!"
Often times people might not understand the directions on a medicine bottle or know how to read a menu.
